Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Zmina collects on this website, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the Zmina website at zmina.app and the waitlist signup form. A separate policy will cover the Zmina app itself once it ships.

Who we are

Zmina is operated by Mykhailo Onikiienko, a sole proprietor in British Columbia, Canada (GST/HST: 71925 8956 RT0001).

What we collect

When you sign up for the Zmina waitlist, we collect:

• Your email address (entered by you)
• Your IP address at the time of submission
• A timestamp of when you submitted the form
• The page or referrer you came from, when available

That’s it. We do not collect your name, location, device details, browsing history, or any other personal information.

Why we collect it

• Email address: to confirm your subscription and send you the launch announcement
• IP address and timestamp: to maintain a record that you consented to receive email from us, as required under Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
• Referrer: to understand which channels people are signing up from, so we know which communities to thank. We do not share this with anyone

Legal basis

For Canadian residents: your consent under CASL, established when you confirm your email after signing up.

For residents of the European Union and United Kingdom: your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by emailing privacy@zmina.app.

Who else can see your information

We use two service providers in operating the waitlist:

• Emailit (email delivery) receives your email address to send you the confirmation and launch emails
• Cloudflare (hosting and database) stores the waitlist data on its infrastructure

Both are data processors, not data controllers. Neither sells your data or uses it for advertising. We do not share your information with anyone else.

How long we keep it

• If you confirm your subscription: until you unsubscribe, after which your record is deleted within 30 days
• If you do not confirm within 7 days: your record is automatically deleted

If we ever shut down the waitlist before launch, all data will be deleted within 30 days.

What we do not do

We want to be specific about this, because it matters:

• No analytics. We do not use Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any other analytics service on this site
• No tracking cookies. This site uses no cookies for tracking. If any cookies are set, they exist only to make the site function
• No advertising. We do not run ads, and we do not share your information with advertisers
• No third-party tracking scripts. There is no Facebook pixel, no Google tags, no LinkedIn insight tag, no anything of that kind
• No selling or trading of personal information. Ever

Your rights

Under CASL, GDPR, and BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate information
• Delete your information (right to erasure)
• Withdraw consent to further processing
• Object to specific uses

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@zmina.app. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for exercising these rights.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we use your information, we will email subscribers about the change and give you the option to withdraw consent before the change takes effect.

Smaller, non-material changes (clarifications, contact updates) will be reflected here with a new effective date.
